Are bellybutton fetishes a thing?

Ok, so some backstory: Wifey and I are cuddling before going to sleep and I am the little spoon. Wifey drapes her arm over me and as a joke rests her finger in my bellybutton. This sparks a lengthy discussion about whether anyone would be aroused by playing with their parter’s bellybutton or having their bellybutton played with. Has anyone heard of such a thing? To clarify, neither of us are particularly fixated on each other’s bellybutton, just curious if this sort of thing exists.

If there’s a part of the body, there’s a fetish that exists for it.

Growing up (today, not so much) exposing the navel, particularly teen girls and women, was viewed as lack of modesty. IOW, the navel evokes a sexual message (sender) or impulse (receiver). Even now, when I see a woman’s navel my attention is drawn toward the amount of skin shown below the navel. Although the navel doesn’t interest me (not even close to a fetish) its mere reveal causes me to wonder what’s below it. For me, the exposure is a temptation to imagine, not a fetish.

Navels are not a fetish for me.

But, they are attention grabbers! They cause or incite curiosity, for a few reasons. First, they are not all the same. Second, they are not displayed as regularly as other body parts. Third, it seems normal for me as a male to find female body parts to at least be interesting if not appealing. As Oldbear has noted, viewing them or thinking about them can lead to temptation and lust.

Back when I was a lad it was a bit risque to show that part of the body. Plenty of girls my age did it, but it was still seen as rather sexual. Today I doubt it’s a big deal for most folks.
