Can I delete an individual PM?

I had a tough time sending PMs.  The content included a long URL and it totally messed up the formatting, cutting off the right margin. I tried different things and as a result  the mail box is a mess.  There are some individual messages I want to delete.

I see that I can apparently delete the whole thread, but can I delete an individual message?

There are two ways, if you go to a profile that have a “Contact via email”. The caution with this is it REVEALS your personal email (the one you are registered under here), if the person replies to that, it then reveals their email, and it becomes a personal email exchange.

The other is using the PM system here. If you are on a computer or tablet, there is a direct link to the PM page, if on a phone, you need to bookmark the address: These messages are totally on this site, no personal information is shared, and you will usually get notified you have PM via email, but there’s also a pink bar at the top, with a ding, when you come to the site and you have a new PM.

For a little more clarification, on the computer, the private messages are in the upper right, listed as “PMs” between the “Contact” and “DONATE” buttons.

As @SC inferred, giving up your e-mail address is shedding some anonymity. The amount of anonymity shed is dependent on the person/e-mail, but a lot of e-mail addresses can be traced back to the IRL person pretty easily.

Also, please be careful with PM’s, as that is where a lot of the wolf/sketchy behavior tends to happen since it’s outside the view of the public.

Not that I’ve been able to tell.  It might just be best to restart a whole new PM.   Just an FYI too, just because you delete your PM thread, doesn’t mean it’s deleted in the receivers.  But, when one person deletes their PM, it puts a little pink/red bar at the bottom that says something like, “You no longer have permission to reply.” (That is not the exact wording, and of course when I wanted to find the exact wording, I couldn’t find a PM in my inbox with it. 🙄 )

“You do not have permission to send reply to this message!”

I think the exact wording is missing the article “a”.

Random question: Are PM’s sent to a person’s email account or is it a specific message within this app? I have zero experience sending or receiving a PM.
