Condom Or No Condom For AS?

Answered

Ever since we’ve added AS to our repertoire I’ve always worn a condom during the act itself. Lately, I’ve been thinking I’d like to go in bareback (as my wife calls it 🙂 ) but have some concerns.  How do others that practice AS approach it?  Do you wear a condom all the time, some of the time  or none of the time?

We have never used a condom. I, personally, like to make sure I am freshly and thoroughly washed (externally) beforehand. I have never done any sort of enema or the like to cleanse the internal. We have never had a problem.

The main thing is not to cross from the anus into the vagina, no fingers, no toys, no penis. That’s where you highly up a chance for an infection. That just means, you may have to get up and wash things good with soap and water if you want to move to the vagina after the anus. And use a certain hand or fingers for one place, and another for the other.

So after AS I assume that whatever was inserted (his penis?) would have feces on it yes? Is there any chance of infection for him?
And what positions would you use? More of a doggie style or laying with him between her legs? Just trying to figure out the angle of his penis and which direction it should curve. Does that matter (towards belly or back)?
Is AS mostly about using a toy as something to squeeze against or is it more for friction (a finger or penis sliding in and out)? If friction is that supposed to create pleasure for both people?

I would guess that there is residue, or why the concern of cross contaminating.  But, I can’t recall any time where things have come out noticeably dirty.  And if it has happened on the rare occasion, my husband never said anything.

Is there any chance of infection for him?

There might be a chance, but again, we have never had any kind of issues the whole time we have practiced it.  No infections for either of us.

Yes.  We use both of those styles.  I actually prefer the missionary style because of what that position provides for me.  We just typically put a pillow under my hips to tilt the pelvis up and forward, that makes it easier to pull off.

I’m not understanding this question.  If it’s not PIA (penis in anus) I believe it’s considered anal play (AP) not anal sex (AS).   When moving in and out, or even if something is just inserted, there are a bundle of nerves that are stimulated.  That makes it pleasurable for the person, whether male or female, because men like anal stimulation as well.  I am not a man, but I would guess any kind of grip on the penis feels good as it is “stroked” by movement.  During AS, I actually like and almost need something inserted into the vagina for the very purpose of something for the muscles to “grip” or “squeeze against”.

Thanks for the explanations and distinction between AS & AP. That helps.

I should add that I make him get up and wash his genitals with soap and water immediately after we finish.  It’s not because he plans to go near my vagina;  I just don’t want to take the chance of him getting a UTI through bacteria entering the urethra.

in the few times we’ve tried it, we’ve always tried it “bareback.” We never got very far, though.

I’ve been curious about AS, but it seems dirty, but a condom seems like it would lose some intimacy.   I’m interested to know what other people do.

For me, at least starting out with a condom made me feel more comfortable (less worried about the ick factor) and helped me ease into the practice. With some experience, it is easier to think about going without. I did not feel that it lost any intimacy, but then again I always feel like from behind (we haven’t done it the other way) is a little edgier (less intimate) anyway.

I’ve never wore a condom for AS and my wife prefers bare too.

Very infrequent, but the few times we’ve tried AS, it’s been without a condom.

We’ve never used a condom either.  We are careful not to go from anal to vaginal  with body parts or toys (without a thorough washing with soap and water first) and afterwards dh washes with soap and water and pees to flush himself.
