Feminine odor

My husband says I have a smell that essentially means a “no go” zone for anything other than piv. I don’t have any infections or any other symptoms as far as I know. Sometimes I know what he’s talking about ( I get night sweats, so morning isn’t always pleasant). I just started taking a chlorophyll supplement that is supposed to help. Anyone else deal w/this and how did you fix it?

It hasn’t been a problem with us. In fact, it’s hard to keep me away from there!

Perhaps his nose is really sensitive. Do you think? Or, he is a bit picky. Seems to me he should enjoy the good things God has blessed him with in his marriage with you. Just saying. Have you smelled/tasted yourself to see if there is something to what he is saying?

Some people have a much more sensitive sense of smell than others. Does your husband have a strong sense of smell? Aside from showering beforehand I’m not sure what else to say. There have been other discussions here on smells and preferences. Yes some men prefer smell to be a part of the experience.

Cafegirl30, has he offered a description of the odor? That might be a place to start. Different odors have different causes. Some are normal aromas. Others not so much.

When does he notice it? An objectionable odor following a nice bath or shower would be unusual. Hours later not so unusual.

Obviously, unusual symptoms such as unexplainable odor, unusual discharge, pain, or itching would suggest a consultation with a medical professional.

The healthy vaginal area has a natural light “musk” odor that is totally normal. Many guys like this scent and even find it arousing. Some guys don’t at first, but get used to it and even grow to like it as it is paired with pleasant experiences in their minds.

If it’s an extremely strong odor that is present right after showers or baths, has a strong “fishy” smell, etc. that might be an indicator there’s something “off” in the natural pH balance of the vagina or some other factor. You shouldn’t douche to get rid of the odor, as that will further throw off the natural, good bacteria and pH balance of the vagina, causing the problem to get worse.

“Many guys like this scent and even find it arousing. ”  No doubt!!   DW won’t let me near her when she feels “unclean” and she’s a clean freak anyway so when she lets me go down on her (rare occasion before and  almost never in the last 5 yrs or so) her pheromones are VERY stimulating to me and my erections are noticeably harder.   I’ve assured her many times that I love the way her pubic area smells but she remains very resistant to OS, receiving or giving.

Women are SUPPOSED to have a fragrance there!

“Your thighs shelter a paradise of pomegranates
              with rare spices—
              henna with nard,
              nard and saffron,
              fragrant calamus and cinnamon,
with all the trees of frankincense, myrrh, and aloes,
and every other lovely spice (Songs 4:13 NLT)”

My wife doesn’t smell like cinnamon by any stretch of the imagination. It is way better, loaded with pheromones that turn me on and cause me to desire her even more! She always has a fragarance there, even when freshly showered.  I like for her to bathe a half-hour or an hour before we do it to give her scent time to build.

The thing to do is go to a gyn and see if anything is amiss. If you aren’t having your period and everything is OK, then your husband will have to learn to appreciate your natural scent. It could be that he is of the mistaken opinion that women are supposed to be odor-free there.  When he learns that it is normal, he may start enjoying it.
