Glitch or Attack?

Answered

Under My Recent Activity right now, I have three notices saying:

Your answer on question was edited.

    and one saying:

Your answer on question Facial hair on women… what is appropriate reaction from spouse was edited.

The link on that last one takes me to the OOPS page.

Since this is very unusual activity, I have to wonder if someone is lashing out at me for my recent question. Have the trolls managed to accrue enough points to be able to edit other people’s answers? And why am I unable to see the edits, or in three cases, even know which answer was edited?

Wait, I believe I know what happened…. the OP came in and deleted their posts, which would register as an ‘edit’, it wasn’t an attack nor a glitch.  All is safe, and well… rest again 😉

      That is a relief!

Except now I am wondering what posts were deleted and why…

Everything is fine. I had to do some major “housecleaning” of threads today, deleting several. It seems everyone who posted to those threads got a notification of an edit.
        Nothing to see here…. 🙂

        <clap, clap, clap>

Although I could point to a few more that could be deleted because of their rudeness and crassness. 🙂

Thanks, Dale, for the explanation and putting us at ease!

No amount of points gets an answer-editing power. You are at the highest badge, can you edit this answer?

Good point; I can’t. (Some days I am not the brightest crayon in the box.)

Well your badge is black…the darkest crayon.

Lol! Well my DH’s favorite color is black, so I’ll take that as encouragement! (And I’m still hoping to make “under the stars” a reality! Just waiting for spring…) 😀

You could PM Dale directly and ask him. I have had something similar happen way before the whole troll thing. I believe the only ones who can do that are administrators and moderators. If they aren’t the ones doing it, they need to look into it.

Oh, that’s what it was. I wondered what had gone wrong.

Dale, might you warn us before you do that the next time?

Also, if it was me, I would take a screen shot of it, for future reference, if needed.

                Not really needed now 🙂

I almost joked about conspiracy theories 🙂  Some of us are overthinkers.

But, it is absolutely better for her to say something publicly so if something was wrong, others would know, and if others saw the same thing, they know what to do.

Apparently I did and can’t for the life of me think what I posted! Oh well. I doubt it was life-changing. Just glad we got to the …root… of the matter. 😀 😀 😀
