Has anyone had a CA125 test result above 500 without having ovarian cancer?

I saw a nurse practitioner for a couple issues last week and she slipped this in among some other tests. My doctor is unavailable to look at the results of the visit and the tests until next week, and to see me until July. I understand elevated CA125 levels can mean a lot of different things besides cancer and I intend to remain calm, however since I have some time to wait before I can even get an explanation for what prompted the test, it would be helpful to hear several resounding “YES”es to my question.

    Meanwhile, prayers would be appreciated.

Apparently…not likely. My doctor thinks it is “worrisome” and is sending me to the “Oh Crap!” hospital. That’s the one that’s not all that far away, but it’s not our home town so when they send you there, you go, “Oh Crap!” Unless there is another way to biopsy ovarian cysts and uterine fibroids that I don’t know about, I will almost certainly be having a hysterectomy.  Now I have to tell my Mom. Prayers appreciated.

Praying for you, the wait time is the worst. I am not just praying for your peace of mind, but that no matter what is going on, that our Jehovah Rapha touches you and heals you through the blood of Jesus. In Jesus’ Name

My doctor always does that test on me because of a family history. I know that in her explanation of potential results, she mentioned high numbers could point to other things, as you have mentioned, the one I recall was rheumatoid arthritis.

Thank you. I sincerely appreciate it!

And wow, RA wasn’t even on the list she gave me. But I do have several of the situations that are on her not-cancer list, so I’m (mostly) calm. 🙂

I can’t tell you a thing about what the test results might mean but I can certainly pray. I hope to hear good news from you here soon.
