Is this a HJ verse?
19 She stretches out her hands to the distaff,
And her hand holds the spindle.
Probably not really written as a HJ verse since distaffs and spindles were common things back then, but it makes me think of a proper two-handed HJ. Her lamp doesn’t go out by night, either.
I didn’t seriously think it was intended that way. But my wife had heard a joke about ‘her lamp does not go out by night’, and I made a joke about the spindle and distaff verse. It’s no the Song of Solomon, so it’s less likely to have sexual metaphor.
