Let’s talk sheet(s).

This is one of those “pebble in the shoe” type problems: not catastrophic, but irritating on a daily basis. Has anyone else had trouble finding sheets that fit the bed? Ever since the first new mattress we bought, maybe three mattresses ago, queen sized sheets just don’t seem to fit our queen sized bed. The fitted sheet pops off the first time you lay on it because the elastic can’t wrap all the way around to the bottom. (Not to mention when we use our adjustable platform!) I don’t settle for “deep pocket”; I only buy those with a specific measurement, usually at least 18″. Our current mattress is the thickest we’ve ever had (it’s a memory foam) and is something like 12″ or 14″, but “18”” sheets still don’t fit. Most recently we tried king sized sheets, but of course they are too loose and slide around.

The sexual issue is that it is distracting and uncomfortable to be on sloppy sheets when we are playing.

Can anyone point me to a brand and distributor for 100% cotton queen sized sheets that are generously enough cut to fit a thick mattress properly–fully covered, but snugly, with a top sheet we will not spend the night playing tug-of-war over. I prefer a 400+ thread count (got that once and got spoiled) but at this point I am somewhat less picky! They must, however, be 100% cotton, pre-shrunk. (I wash in hot.)

Thank you!! I will be very grateful for links!!

We have a 14″ deep mattress. I either buy the sheets from Costco, or Bed, Bath, and Beyond. We haven’t had trouble. I wash the sheets once a week, and maybe tighten the sheet once a week, otherwise. We don’t have a memory foam top, though. Maybe that’s part of the problem. We bought the firmest mattress we could find, 5 years ago.

We’ve had the same problem with our king sized mattress. I used to change the sheets by myself. Over the last 5 years or so, I have required Dh’s help because it involves a true tug of war to get any sheet to fit properly. And when the bed is made, we both treat it like it’s made of crystal for the first few hours because neither of us feels like undoing the work. 😂

We have had similar problems. We actually have had to use straps to hold the sheets on, have you tried them?

I bought some, then realized the memory foam mattress is extremely heavy! I haven’t  gotten up the gumption to try it with all the lifting and flopping and grunting, lol!

We have the same semi-issue as it come off quite a bit and makes things as you say “sloppy”.  My DW keeps talking about buying some under the corner clips.  But, they never show up.

Our problem is finding a mattress protector that has any sort of longevity at all.  We had one that was durable and lasted years, but no matter what we look for now they all fall apart in a few washes.

When I was a young man still living in the barracks(subject to room inspections), I made some elastic garters to hold the sheet. It might be something to consider.

                    Use old fashioned flat sheets?

Wow. Sounds like the market needs a supplier of sheets that really fit! If I wanted to be an entrepreneur, I would look into it, but I guess I’ll just have to use those elastic clips. :/
