Pets and sex

Are you a cat or dog owner? Do you let your furry pet “sleep” with you?  What about when you’re having sex?  What happens to your pet then?  Any funny stories to tell here?

Our lazy Basset hound slept in our bedroom by the fireplace. We had to put him down a year ago. He was totally oblivious to our sexual activity!

Dog owners here! We currently have two siberian huskies.

Here’s our funny pet/marriage bed related story:

We had a funny situation a month or two after we adopted our first dog from a local rescue. We had been married for about 4 months at the time.

As things ramped up during foreplay, he decided to come over to the bed whimpering and begging to be allowed up on the bed with us. We told him to go away.

As things started to progress, he decided he would hop up on the bed anyway. So I pulled him back off the bed and quickly walked him out of the room (in retrospect, I should have closed the door, but since it was just me and DW with no kids, the bedroom door was rarely closed).

We continued our LMing, but after a few minutes he was back on the bed again! However, this time he decided to mark his territory right there on the bed directly on my feet!

Talk about a mood killer! Both DW and I jumped out of bed completely nude. One of us was dragged the dog out of the room to his crate while the other was ripped the sheets off the bed so we could quickly get back to the task at hand.

To this day, I don’t know if he was upset because he thought he was missing out on something OR if he was being protective of my wife. At the time, he would cling more to her.

The good thing is that he’s never done that again since that incident over 10 years ago!

That is hilarious.  Thanks for sharing it apparently twice now.

FYI.  Using the search button provided by the board, my search on “Pets and sex” found just these 2 related topics:

        “Fasting sex”

        and

“Ever feel like the Universe is trying (and succeeding) to keep you from having sex?

Search button did not find your thread QOTD 5/14/2020.  So, I apologize for that @intripides96.

Haha, no worries! The search feature loses more than it finds on here. Just a little longer to go until the new system is ready!

Thanks for understanding.  I meant no harm. Do you still have the Huskies?

        on January 10, 2021.

Yep! Still have both of them.

As of today, no pets, no stories of interrupting lovemaking.  But, I am  a big time dog lover so maybe in retirement, we’ll get a dog.   Too much traveling, we are gone too much right now.  When our four kids were all under the age of 10, they all wanted a dog soooooo bad and asked for a dog every day.  DW, in her brilliant wisdom, said we’ll get two cats and see how this goes knowing that cats allowed a bit more flexibility in travel.  Two kids were to clean the litter box (the older ones) and two kids were to give fresh water and food every day.  This lasted two weeks.  I ended up cleaning the litter box and DW fed and gave fresh water to the cats.  The kids figured out the experiment was a disaster and NEVER asked for a dog again.  Meanwhile, I had to put down two cats in their old age and boy was that tough.  This old man choked up and shed a tear or two both times.

We haven’t had a pet in 22 years, other than a fish tank. Kids are enough work and distraction for us. 😉
