Pray for healing
I’m up and down all the time. Deep longing and emotions keep coming. Each week brings new challenges and obstacles. I really need wisdom to know how to communicate with my wife in ways that don’t end in conflict. I’m lonely and worn being the only one at work (so it seems). Input is appreciated but more than that I appreciate prayer for healing and Spirit led heart change. I want to communicate but don’t always know how or when.
I was thinking this morning of Matthew 6:33, seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. If Jesus tells us that God will provide for our needs if we seek Him first, then would marital intimacy be one of those needs? In Genesis 2:18 God said “It is not good that man should be alone”. A wife is God’s way of providing what man needs. Yet for many years I have sought God above earthly pursuits and for loss. Now my faith is tested that lately I feel like I don’t have the same desire to seek first His kingdom, while at the same time it brings me to God for strength. I used to be much more active in the church and in ministry, but this has sapped a lot of my strength.
May God strengthen you as He did Joshua.
Joshua 1:7-9 Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the law my servant Moses gave you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left, that you may be successful wherever you go. 8 Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful. 9 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.
I am praying for you. The place of security is not found in emotions though it is easy to feel that way. The place of security as it relates to the spiritual, marital, social, familial, etc., is found in the Word of God. God has promised and it is so. “I am with you always, even to the ends of the age.” Matthew 28:20.
Thank you everyone. We all need prayer but I especially needed the lift, and God faithfully answered. I appreciate all of your encouragement. Circumstances don’t necessarily change but perspectives make all the difference when we can see that God is sovereign and He knows what He is doing.
