Prayers for pain

    Hi Family,

I hesitated for a long time to request prayer as there was a negative post about asking for prayer and i don’t want to be a burden but… (since this is also affecting our sex life, it’s appropriate) i am in a lot of pain, i need a total hip replacement which, i guess if you HAVE TO have surgery, is the one to have, you pretty much get an elimination of pain and recover rather quickly BUT i am bipolar and suffer from a lot of anxiety so this seems like a mountain i just cannot overcome.  Also with bipolar, the upset of a surgery w/anesthesia, pain meds, etc., *can* unbalance a bipolar and that is what really concerns me the most.

i don’t think i can just go into it by faith right now, i have overcome a lot that way but this one… but i am in so much pain, i feel like it’s just not fair (cue the tiny violin) that it is such an “easy” fix but here i am with my mental “problems” 🙁

Husband has severe chronic pain in his leg (no real cure) and it affects every single area of his life, it’s miserable and heartbreaking.  Anyway, thank you so much for prayers!!

no negative but this TMB should be second to local attended church or bible study prayer

it definitely is, most notably prayers with my husband and my best friends as well as the church. i did specify the sex life being involved as it involves every aspect of life–to make it relevant.

Prayers sent sister!  That you will be able to rest in the knowledge of God’s goodness and sovereignty, that He will remove your anxiety and physical pain, that your surgeon’s hands and mind will be guided by God, and that the outcome will be total healing and that you will glorify your Savior in your joy.

        Praying for you!

Have you talked to your doctor or the surgeon about your concerns?  If not, could it help to talk to them?

Even without the preexisting mental issues, major surgery can be a big hurdle to overcome mentally.  As my husband recently said, “It’s not a big deal, until it’s happening to you.”  Surrender, that was his HUGE lesson he had to go through.  No matter which direction he went with his decision, there was a surrendering that had to happen.

Again, I am praying for you!  I know Jesus is right there with you every step of the way, and every stop on the way.  He’s not going to leave you nor forsake you.

Yes i’ve told him about it and am going to take a step of faith and reconnect, my big concern is about anesthesia which i most definitely need to discuss with him.

SOA, thanks for sharing your need for prayer, support, and encouragement. God wonderfully made our spiritual, emotional, physical, and relational systems to work hand-in-hand. When one of those systems is stressed, it affects other systems. When two or more are challenged we desperately need prayer, encouragement, understanding, and God’s grace and peace.

”Dear Heavenly Father, Song of Angels needs a special touch, today. She humbly reached out to a community that loves You and cares for each other. We care for her. Please give her peace. May her angst and emotions be calmed. Give the surgeon and health caregivers favor.  May they minister to her. Give her husband relief and strength to support and love her through this. We pray this in Jesus’s powerful name, Amen!”

“God, You said you’d keep us in perfect peace, when we fix our mind on you and trust in You. I ask and pray that for SoA right now and where there’s a gap in her faith and frailty of heart, mind or body, we ask that You’d step in and fill her gap as we lift her in prayer and bring healing to her body.  Father, may Your peace, which passes all understanding, guard her heart and mind in Christ Jesus, and in His name we pray, Amen!”

Glad you asked!  I am praying for you both.  I have lived with chronic pain, and it alone causes anxiety and depression, so I’m sure it doesn’t help your bipolar.
