Problems with the New Board

There is a technical problem with the new board.  You can type a long message, then press post, and it asks you for your password.  You enter it, and then your message is not posted.  It’s just lost.

You definitely have to log in.  I’ve learned to, usually, select all and copy my post.  Sometimes I’ve gotten the login prompt again after logging  in.

I also don’t like the ‘Question of the day.’  That’s an unsearchable subject line if it is an interesting topic.  Not everyone logs in every day.  ‘Question of the day’ is a boring subject line to fill up the page.

If you are on a PC/windows system you can select your text and copy it before posting, that way if it loses your text, you can just login and re-paste it.  It is a website issue I agree, and this tip won’t help if you are on a smartphone.

On an iPhone, you can tap a word, get the select/copy menu, choose Select All, and then tap the selection and choose copy. I do that most of the time on here when posting. The errant not staying logged in issue is a known issue (I believe more on mobile devices than elsewhere).

I find it to be slow. For instance, when you write a message and then press post, it takes several seconds to actually be sent. Or when you try to unfollow a thread, it isn’t very responsive.

I have noticed this as well. I wondered if it was our own internet connection…. apparently not.

Upvoting is also super slow. It didn’t use to be that way IIRC.

Something that’s driving me nuts is when I see Comments (1) and I click on it and it only pulls up the box for ME to comment.

Or it says Comments (5) and it only shows me two.

@ProphetPriestKing, those numbers also show how many upvotes or downvotes that answer has received.  Therefore if there it says (5) and there are only two comments, that means that there have been 3 votes given.  But with a glitch, sometimes those votes won’t register in the blue box (if on PC) until much later, but will by the “Comment”.

Also, on the Mac/PC/tablet version, the upvotes/downvotes don’t count towards the comment tally. It really is that weird!

Another thing.  Searching keywords, that I for sure know are in a post, don’t yield all or any results.
