QOTD-10-21-2020-Which side of the bed?

Which side of the bed (facing the headboard) do you sleep on? Is there a particular part of the bed you use more for sexual purposes?

In our bedroom facing the bed, wife is on the left and I am on the right because it’s closest to the door. As someone already said, I sleep there or in hotels for security purposes…BUT dear wife definitely doesn’t like to switch.

Sex in in bed is always any which way you can, except in the Winter when she’s colder.

Finally and to clarify, while we have a king size bed and the wife starts on the left (to my right in bed) doesn’t mean she stays there. DW sleeps and treats the bed like she treats my money, dessert and French fries, “what’s hers is hers and what’s mine is hers”. :D.

DW is on the left and I’m on the right.

Usually for sexual purposes, I move more toward her side. I’m not really sure why, but maybe it’s because she typically prefers to be on the bottom and I move over to her side as things progress to be on top.

I sleep on the right side and DH on the left.

We always use DH’s side of the bed for sex, for some reason. We have as long as I remember.

I usually sleep on the right. Even though I am much larger than my wife, I get the tiny edge of the mattress and she gets her “half acre” of the king size bed. 😆😆
Sex, and the “mess”, is usually on the side that belongs to whoever is on bottom.

Exactly what my husband thinks. He often asks what I want with the other 2/3 of the bed!

I have literally been crowded off the bed so much that I’ve received DW’s ire for getting up, walking around the bed and climbing in on her side because I could have more room than the 1/8 or less sliver of our king-size bed that I was previously occupying.

I would sleep on the left side, but in reality middle to left. 😉   For sex, we actually can end up about anywhere, in any direction, it just depends on how we start out and what positions we start with.

Facing the headboard, Scott is on the right, Zelda on the left.

For applicable positions, sex is always in the middle of the bed with the person in the bottom position having their head by the headboard. Other positions: side of the bed is almost always on Scott’s side (she can rest her feet on the walk), and spooning is in the middle of the bed with each of us on our “side” of the bed still.

Early in marriage we tried swapping sides for a few nights, and it didn’t go well. We also tried swapping sides for spooning sex, and the sensations were definitely noticeably different! I attribute that difference to potential asymmetry inside her as well as definitely me pointing one direction preferentially.

We have done some sex rotated 90 degrees In our bed (trying to minimize sound with guests), but we’ve never done it fully rotated 180 degrees. I want to try it, but Zelda thinks it’d be weird!

I sleep on the right side and my wife is on the left, but in everything else, I’m on the left (politics aside) and my wife is always right! During sex, it depends on who is initiating. If she is initiating, we start out with me on the right and she in the middle and then we just go from there all over, but usually end up in the middle. Love our king size bed for sex. 🙂

                    Always the top side.

In the past 9 years we moved about 7-8 times due to unstable income and last 4  years I’m full time in school and supporting my family. Because of it we don’t really have side that we stick with. However something I picked up from John Piper that he mentioned once in his sermon or book I don’t remember which, but he always sleeps on the side that is closest do the door. His reason is that if any danger will ever come through that door he want’s it first to come through him. I thought that it was very loving and caring of him. So I follow his example:) So in the past 9 years I’ve slept on both sides, and I like to be closer to the door for that reason. As far as space, of-course I get the edge, and DW gets the rest of the bed:) and we are both use to it.

That’s why we took the sides of the bed we did early in marriage, now it’s just habit to be on these sides rather than me on the door side.

Facing the headboard, I’m on the left and she’s on the right. Always fall asleep with me holding her in a spooning position (though we’ve never made that position work for us in sex).

We used to have sex mostly on my side of the bed, so if there was a wet spot she didn’t have to lay in it after. I am far less bothered by that. Lately, we’ve been mostly laying across the bed, heads on her side and feet on mine. But sometimes we’re the other way around. We only do it with heads at the foot of the bed when it’s been a very spontaneous rip each other’s clothes off time, which is infrequent.
