I’d say, 10-15% of the time. It’s usually not that often and it’s probably because I’m horny and there’s not time for something else, and the other few times, DW is offering to satisfy me because she’s spent. Regarding time, the older I get, the more time it can take more time but it may also be more because of how soon it’s been from making love before. Truthfully, sometimes I don’t orgasm from our quickies, especially if we’ve made love in the previous 12-24 hrs. HOWEVER, that isn’t always the goal, sometimes it’s the connection and/or it could also be a kind of foreplay to get the engines & juices flowing for later. With all that said, duration is probably more like 5-7 minutes for quickies.
There was a time when we’d resort to a quickie just because we had a houseful of boys, a tired wife, a work-stressed husband, and sexual tension. Both of our equipment could warm up on very short notice. (relief of sexual tension and for DW usually “duty sex” and sense of connection but not particularly satisfying.)
Not very often now that I am retired. No rush any more which is much more enjoyable for both of us … and our warm-up takes longer. Much more intimacy in slowing things down and actually “loving” each other.
Probably 30% – 50%. I know that sounds like a lot, but it does depend on the definition. My DW would not put the % that high probably. But if I divide sex into three primary categories: Quickie, Functional, Extended Version – my estimation would be 30 / 50 / 20. Quickie is “hey, I got 5 minutes, want a poke?”:1 – 5 mins, Functional is the normal – has a little foreplay, not in a hurry but not intentionally taking your time either, one position, gets the job done sex: 5 – 20 mins. Extended is as it sound – lots of build-up, lots of variation in the act, position changes, location changes, etc: 20 mins+
That’s with sex at about 10x month, +/- 5. If the frequency is up, then so is the quickie category.
