About once a month, and we have sex 12-16 times a month

Wheat, after all you’ve been through, that’s an amazing testimony to the work, effort and healing God has done in you and you’ve done through Him.  I celebrate that. Way to go!

Less quickie these days. more 15-20 minute sessions, not too long.

i have requested quickie when i was in mood and was traveling for the week and knew i would not have sex for three days.

Lot of quickie when we were young

They have become less common over the years. There is so much to enjoy in a full – length movie! And the sense of urgency isn’t the same it used to be. So, less than 10% of the time. They would be less than 10 minutes.

We’ve NEVER had a quickie…it has to be a big production for her to have sex

How are we defining “quickie” here? The time it takes? It’s only for the benefit (orgasm) of one? No foreplay?

I’d say, 10-15% of the time. It’s usually not that often and it’s probably because I’m horny and there’s not time for something else, and the other few times, DW is offering to satisfy me because she’s spent.  Regarding time, the older I get, the more time it can take more time but it may also be more because of how soon it’s been from making love before. Truthfully, sometimes I don’t orgasm from our quickies, especially if we’ve made love in the previous 12-24 hrs. HOWEVER, that isn’t always the goal, sometimes it’s the connection and/or it could also be a kind of foreplay to get the engines & juices flowing for later. With all that said, duration is probably more like 5-7 minutes for quickies.

If we were defining a quickie as duration, then EVERY encounter my wife and I have had for 23 years is a quickie!!  It takes me longer to cook a grilled cheese than it does to have sex! ROFL!!

I don’t get it, i thought that you said above that you have NEVER had one, that every encounter is a big production?

                  on September 29, 2020.

Yes, getting to the point of “having sex” is a production…the right time, the right mood, the right light, stars in line with Venus before she’s ready…but once we start, it’s over quick.

If someone were to ask me to define a quicky, I would say it’s planned. If I was to come home, and my wife would say “dinner’s in 5 mins…wanna get busy in the bedroom before dinner?” That would fall into that category. But that doesn’t happen.

So I guess my second post was an attempt at humor due to my not lasting long…I guess it failed.

Maybe quickie can be defined as not removing the clothes and only lowering and/or lifting articles of clothing for the sexual act?

There was a time when we’d resort to a quickie just because we had a houseful of boys, a tired wife, a work-stressed husband, and sexual tension.  Both of our equipment could warm up on very short notice. (relief of sexual tension and for DW usually “duty sex” and sense of connection but not particularly satisfying.)

Not very often now that I am retired.   No rush any more which is much more enjoyable for both of us … and our warm-up takes longer.  Much more intimacy in slowing things down and actually “loving” each other.

Probably 30% – 50%. I know that sounds like a lot, but it does depend on the definition. My DW would not put the % that high probably. But if I divide sex into three primary categories: Quickie, Functional, Extended Version – my estimation would be 30 / 50 / 20.  Quickie is “hey, I got 5 minutes, want a poke?”:1 – 5 mins, Functional is the normal – has a little foreplay, not in a hurry but not intentionally taking your time either, one position, gets the job done sex: 5 – 20 mins. Extended is as it sound – lots of build-up, lots of variation in the act, position changes, location changes, etc: 20 mins+

That’s with sex at about 10x month, +/- 5. If the frequency is up, then so is the quickie category.

“hey, I got 5 minutes, want a poke?“

LOL!!! I’m gonna have to try that one.

Sunday, I whispered to DW at church during the message, “babe, I’ve got something I want to get off your chest tonight.” which got a snicker from her and rise for me. 😀

                        Seems pretty balanced to me!!

Another favorite is “Wanna cut cards?”

Both are homages to Gus McCrae in “Lonesome Dove”.   Only the best western movie in the history of western movies – though it is a mini-series. We both can just about quote the whole thing.

I resort to “I have a stiffness that I need for you to work out”  and “I’ve got a stirring in my loins”.
