Restarting sex after 60

After many years of not having sex, we restarted our sex life in our early sixties. It’s been rocky. She has pain issues from vaginal atrophy, and sex has been a frequent source of conflict between us, but I think we’re seeing some improvement. We also have differences in libido levels and problems with stress and energy due to demanding work lives.

Is there anyone else here who’s restarted sex later in life, and if so, what are your experiences?

We sort of restarted.  Sex was good until DW lost her ovaries.  Then she  had vaginal atrophy, loss of libido, the whole nine yards.  We are back, and better than ever thanks to bioidentical hormone replacement therapy.  Check it out.

Has your wife been referred to a physical therapist to address the atrophy?  It can help.  Even for women who like and enjoy sex, the drop in hormones afte menopause, it is possible to get things loosened up.

Not to a physical therapist, but her gyno has prescribed some meds and she’s using a dilator. I’m reluctant to suggest anything more because she’d view it as being pushy.
