What is the best place to buy sex toys?
If it was me, and they had the product I was wanting, I would support the small Christian businesses that have been mentioned. But my husband is the toy shopper, and Amazon is where he goes. Even if you order from other places, I would suggest going to Amazon and reading the reviews on that same product before ordering them.
Thinking about purchasing our first butt plug, clit sucker, and cock ring.
Any thoughts/suggestions on types, sizes, brands? Any advice on using for the plug for the first time?
On “cock rings”, my husband has silicone/rubber rings and has some steel rings. He has used both, but he seems to use the silicone/rubber ones more often.
On “butt plugs”, yes, start smaller, but if you start too small, it won’t stay in well. At least that was our experience. When we use them, it’s usually the steel ones with a jewel on the end. All I have to say is you have to limit your wear with that, because the outside portion can start digging into the cheeks, and it can become very uncomfortable. Another tip, insert the plug with nothing in the vagina. That gives more “space” for things to enter more comfortably, and after that is comfortably in, then the vagina could be “filled”.
On the “clit sucker”, it’s never done much for me when we have used them, but I know people are different. And this is a fairly new toy for us, so we haven’t had the chance to experiment with it fully.
With any of these things…. remember they are “toys”. Have fun and enjoy the experimenting and “playing” with them. If they aren’t all they were cracked up to be, oh well, have fun with the experience even if the toy was a flop on it’s own. Also, don’t make a final call on it until you have given it a fair shot….meaning, multiple tries and multiple times. What may not be a good experience the first time or two, could be a great experience the next, or vice versa.
So “best place” depends on what you’re going for. For shear breadth of whats available, for instance, a secular site would probably be best.
However, we’ve opted to go through a Christian-owned site when possible, as those site are pornography free and also tend to have pre-screened products that are higher quality and/or safer.
We’ve done nearly all our toy shopping at Married Dance. Prices are competitive, and it’s fairly easy to find a decent coupon online (you can PM me if you’re struggling to find one). Covenant Spice is another option, though we personally haven’t used that one.
We’ve not considered rings, and Zelda isn’t interested in plugs, but I’ve researched clitoral stimulators quite a bit. From the reviews, that technology is considered by many women to be the ultimate in pleasure. However, it’s also hit or miss. For us, it didn’t really work. Part of that is even the lowest setting appeared too strong, and I also think that’s part of my wife’s wiring. She gets best pleasure in an area off to the side and not directly on the glans clitoris, which is often too sensitive for strong stimulation. If your wife is the same, then I’d suggest trying to get the stimulator with the lowest possible intensity level. This plot shows intensity level (right = higher) for a large number of the stimulator options:
We opted for the We-Vibe Melt, which has pretty much the highest-intensity low setting (we chose it based on our success with We-Vibe in the past, its remote-control feature, and its slimmer profile that aims for simultaneous use during PIV). In retrospect, that was a mistake, and we’d have done better to go with a Satisfyer model with a lower intensity (even though Satisfyer is the “generic” version). However, tons of women love the We-Vibe Melt and Lelo Sona, so clearly this intensity thing is person dependent. Satisfyer has also started selling the horribly named “One Night Stand” that is an inexpensive disposable version for ~$10. Here it is on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/Satisfyer-Disposable-Air-Pulse-Clitoris-Stimulator/dp/B07V6JTF77 It only has four settings, and I don’t know where they fit on the above chart, but it’s a cheap way to test the tech if you don’t want to commit to a bigger purchase first. (Also, the reviews indicate it runs on AAA batters that you can replace if you take the toy apart!)
Hope that helps,

I will add a few things. First of all, all major toy sites have sales as well as offer coupon codes for signing up for their emails. Also remember, Cmas shopping is coming up quickly so there will be significant sales and discounts being offered by all major sites. Regarding Amazon & Ebay, if you go that way, caveat emptor. If it’s too good to be true, it probably is and considering where these toys are going and being used, I like to make sure I have some quality control as actual products (vs knockoffs) with reputable vendors which can be found on those sights as well.
We’ve bought stuff from marrieddance & honoringintimates last Nov & Dec when they had some killer sales on. I’ve also bought from Liberator which always has some type of sale (Their best was 33-35% off everything if I remember correctly which is only a few special times a year.) With that said, I do my research and like to wait until I can combine a sale with a product and then make our purchases.
Finally, regarding your other questions, 1) plugs? I’d suggest starting simple & small. You can always get larger and other sensations if you like. (B-vibes starters are soft & smooth and they have gradual size increases. Nice textures vs cheaper plastic ones.) 2) C rings? There’s a large variety out there. You can buy rubber ones to try. The metal ones can be nice and easy to clean. However, it can take some work to manage things when they don’t stretch. (It’s kind of like a Chinese puzzle as you’re trying to manipulate everything.)
I’m a tactile shopper. I don’t buy alot online… But I’m also not hopping into an Adam & Eve store either. I will jet into the mall, go into Spencer’s, and get stuff… Its usually not as expensive and if there’s a problem, they’ll take it right back
I got a few things online in the last few weeks. DH and I have found an extension / sleeve that is amazing 🙂 We haven’t tried a butt plug, not sure if that’s our thing. A sucking toy is supposed to be very fun, and I can’t get enough attention on my clit 😛
Also, I forgot to mention, some plugs have weights in them so with the B-vibes, as they go up in size (length & circumference for the inserted end), they go up in weight and the weights create a different sensation than just having something inserted.
