“That was a pleasant surprise”

I came home from a gun show, pulled in the car shed and DW was in bathing suit sunning in the side yard. I got out with a small bag of plunder and went over to greet her. We kissed, and she asked if I was taking the stuff to the shop. “Yeah, I reckon.” She followed me there. I was putting my stuff down and she asked “You want your dream?” … “What?” …”You want to have sex in here? Where did you imagine it? Over here..?” She started taking off clothes.   😳.   I was in shock for a moment. I had come home with nothing like this on my mind. But that changed quick enough😉.

It was good. Not great, but good. I struggled a little to finish but suggested a location/position change and got it done! That’s when I told her what a pleasant surprise. I was still in a fog of disbelief. Stayed there for a while. Later I asked her when did you get this idea. She told me she just thought it would be a good opportunity. Later it hit me just how much thought she must have been putting into it. She must have been thinking about it for a while. I don’t think the thought just popped into her head. She’s not that spontaneous. But the important part was that she put thought into it. She has to do that. There is great value there. I can really appreciate it. Praise the Lord! Praise my dear wife! She did that for me. Nothing but good there…

There is no better gift than for our wife to do something exotic and surprising that was totally her idea.

The gun show sounds great, not sure what California gun shows are like. We’re getting restricted so much on 2nd amend, I probably should attend. Anyway, your wife perhaps enjoys the fact that she is most assuredly well protected from bad guys at your place. Sometimes this can be a turn on for her. (you have a truck?)

C.j., I can’t answer for other wives, but my husband having a gun doesn’t do anything for me. He doesn’t have it to protect me from bad guys, only for a couple other reasons and I would just as soon he didn’t have one, (because I hate the damage they can do) although I know its a necessity for us. But, I am also curious about your remark about trucks. Is that supposed to make a wife feel good or be turned on?

    on June 1, 2020.

C.J. – My DW can protect herself.  She doesn’t need  me for that, but I certainly can and would by any means necessary. She can handle a firearm almost as good as I…..almost.  She claims she’s a better fisherman though. LOL  We both came from a culture that embraced guns and the outdoor lifestyle in general. I never had enough money growing up to have much gun access beyond a couple my dad and grandpa had (which I still have). But as I have gained financial success, I have remedied that shortcoming.

Yes I have a truck. So does she. She drives an FJ Cruiser that she would likely trade me in before it. And yep, it is a lifted 4×4 with 36″ mud tires (hers).  Turn on?  Well, I would share where and how and what our first seriously romantic date consisted of….but gentlemen don’t kiss and tell. A truck was involved. And she has suggested that that particular truck, a ’79 one-ton cowboy Cadillac, was… impressive 🙂

I’ve been to CA once with my son for his senior trip. San Fran. Beautiful place, especially Sausalito, but I would not live there for any amount of money. Just not my lifestyle. I have heard that northern CA is a lot different and would be more to my liking. Have friends who lived in the central valley for a long time – until it started to change beyond their tolerance level.

The guns bit is a different topic, but I agree with Brynna .

    trucks, guns, U.S. flag….never mind.

Some women feel that guns are bad and unrealistically feel that removing guns from the world is the best thing. If you live in relative peace and protection in a great neighborhood, you may feel that guns are totally unnecessary. However, since you bring this up…my point is that women (mostly) desire a certain amount of security in life; secure home, secure relationship, secure finances, etc. In this world criminals have no remorse. The damage a gun does is very important to provide a realistic deterrent to anyone attempting to break into your home. There is more data on this but media will not allow the truth. My main point is that guns protect women either in the mans hand or the wife’s hand. Playing mr wimpy and being afraid of guns you end up like the Dallas guy in the news the other day who had a machete for protection. The looters beat him severely and his blood poured out onto the sidewalk outside his business. My wife is impressed that I know a lot about guns because she knows that her safety and our teen daughters safety depends on this especially when looters threatened to burn our neighborhood. I understand if you disagree. Many people are raised in safety and never see violence so therefore don’t feel a need for guns or high powered ones either. They are also at times, vegetarians, liberal and NOT Christian.

Sounds awesome. I think you should go more often to that gun show. Who knows what may be waiting for you at home.

Well, after 27 years, you get pretty good at guessing – but she threw me a change-up for sure. These kinda things have been topics of discussions lately but I never thought it would happen. The real question is whether she will be able to respond in similar fashion when it is me that makes the move. I hope this episode was a step toward such.

Just explore the filed (questions, hints), to check how she may feel about receiving a similar surprise.

Interesting…. I see all the congratulations are coming from other guys. I guess not too surprising.

So for update sake, and to pander a little to the female crowd 😉 – In a moment of quiet closeness yesterday, I told her I wanted to make sure I told her how much I appreciated her efforts and I recognized the thought she put into it and that it meant a lot to me. She smiled real big and said thank you.

I have plans next time I catch her like that (assuming no kids around) to just take her in the yard. Wish me luck….I’ll need it!

This: “She smiled real big and said thank you.” sounds like the traffic light is just in yellow, moving to green in the next second. Have your foot ready for the accelerator. best thing, start with 1st gear, and go all the way to the last one.

Slow is likely the best speed. I suppose the better option when this situation presents itself would be to approach, kiss and strongly suggest we go to the bedroom right then.  Almost feels like a defeat as I write it…. But it would not be. Just a smaller victory that might lead to a larger one.

Yard sex? Get a good fence, some plants and other objects just in case someone meanders into your yard during the “encounter.”
