Trouble with PMing

I am unable to send out new PMs.  Anyone else having this issue?  If you want to test it out, you can try sending me a generic PM and see if you can send one out.  I am NOT talking about “contacting via email”.  I am speaking of the actual PM system here on the boards.

Admins, do we know what’s going on?

 

I am still able to “reply” to PMs that are already in my message box.  And as of yesterday, I was able to send out new PMs.  But I was just trying to send a PM, to Dale of all the people, and it won’t go through.

What I am noticing is when I type in the username, there is not the usual blue box that pops up to select the user… and I tried it with a few different user names.  I also tried it on my computer and my phone.  The same problem no matter what.

    Mine is also doing that. BUT:  If I go to Directory, search for the User I want, check the box, then click at the right where it says “send message”, then I can successfully send a new message.

    An additional note:  every time I switch pages in the PM system I have to Log In again. That’s new.

    I noticed that when I would switch pages and after sending a PM, the page would basically go blank and I would have to refresh and things would show up again.

    There was an update to that plugin recently, and clearly it’s buggy. I will be on the lookout for a fix.

    One more thing:  after I send my messages (whether new or replies) I get “refresh this page and try again”, although when I do so I find my message has indeed sent. (And it did not ask me to sign in again just now after I sent a reply; only when I clicked on the pink notification bar at the top I had to sign in to get to the message page.) Just to give you all the information in case it helps with the fix. Thanks to the admins for working so hard to keep the board functioning well in spite of itself. 🙂

      I got your message, SC, and was able to reply.  I also got the “To Required” error when trying to initiate a new message though as well.

          Are we back to no PM’s???

          I have never gotten a PM here so I don’t know If it works or not. Nor do I know how to send one. If you want to test something I will try to see if I get it.

            No, you just have to go to “directory” and find the username and click “send message”. It works, just not very convenient. Once they are in your messgae box, replying back seems to be normal.

                @Scott, I had noticed I didn’t have to refresh to see things but I haven’t tested any new PMs. Thanks for this heads up, I will be checking out mine!

                  This seems to be fixed for me too, and I can pinpoint it to within the last 5 hours because I received a PM earlier this afternoon and still had to refresh, but now I don’t. I haven’t tried sending any new ones.
