My wife and I love to watch each other in mirror during love making and would love to video…. but there is always a fear of someone else seeing it. An SD card getting misplaced? Someone accessing your phone, etc.
Does anyone else have experience in this? Does anyone have a secure way of doing this?
Is the video for watching later, or would a video during the act suffice? If video during the act works for you, then you can try livestreaming the feed to a TV in your room. This was suggested by gLove on last Thursday’s QOTD.
For recording, there is always a risk of it being found. Certainly ways to reduce that risk (probably reducing it to a very small level if done right), but I think others here know more about that than I do. We’ve never actually done anything like this.
Never done this, but am interested.
My advice would be to ensure that anything like that is always kept totally local and nowhere near the internet. That way someone has to either hack into your computer or physically access the storage media. Use hidden folders, preferably with some kind of encryption or password protection.
We have a lot of stuff we have collected over the years. It’s a lot of fun, and more fun to look at the older we get!
Starting with a box of pictures we took with a Polaroid Camera, (sure wouldn’t use regular film, and get it developed!) and then digital pics, which are all on usb drives.
The old pics, are in a box, in the bottom of a drawer in our bedroom. That is also where we keep the usb drives, which are password protected. The pics use to be on a laptop, encrypted, with a program that is now discontinued. That’s when we put them all on usb drives.
Seems good enough to us. How far does one need to go, only you can answer.
Thinking about this, you need to consider where the risks are and therefore what level of security is required.
If material is online, then you have no control of its security and it’s possible that it could get shared like data did after all the high profile hacking scandals in recent years. For that reason, I’d avoid cloud storage and keep everything stored locally.
If things are stored locally, there are two things you want to guard against:
- the casual snooper
- the determined hacker
Frankly, I don’t think you’ll defeat a determined hacker. For the casual snooper, you need to decide how much security is necessary. One option is to put things in a folder which requires a password to access. If that’s not secure enough, then storing things on removable media like USB sticks, encrypting them and keeping them safe is probably all you need to do.
Whilst it’s true that files deleted off an SD card are forensically recoverable, I don’t think you need to worry, because someone would have to actively go looking for them. Buying a separate SD card might be a sensible precaution, however.
We have used an SD card. We have it separate from all our other cards. We keep it buried under a pile of junk in our night stand and it says, “Private, Do not look at this” written on it just in case we both ended up dying at the same time somehow. We never put anything on computer or internet.
It is my opinion that the best “video” is the one in your head – as it will always be perfect. When you look back at the real recorded one later you are likely to see all the flaws, all the things you or you spouse might want to change – etc. The ones I play in my head are awesome!
