Yet Another Oddity of these Boards
I’ve noticed this a few times and am wondering if anyone else has seen it. There will be a blue Comment to click under a post, but no comment is there.
As an example, see Elevation’s question of the day on 10/08. Do others see the Comment right under his question?
I’m still confused. Upvotes and downvotes count as comments? I don’t have a problem with that idea.
But, as I look at my screen now, GeorgeB has an upvote, but 0 comments. Where as, SC has 3 upvotes and one comment, but she has the number 1 in brackets. Similarly Duchess has two up votes and one comment and yet has the number 1 in brackets.
This is one of my petpeeves, as long as someone has enough points, they can choose that for another. Granted, it is pretty easy to “accept” an answer as one is scrolling through on their phone, and NOONE can change it back, not even the one who chose it (whether intentionally or acccidently), EXCEPT for the one who posed the question. I ALWAYS remove another’s “best answer” selection on my questions because I feel it shuts others down from posting and contributing to the question. Because, it is posted as ‘Answered” when scrolling through the main page.
As the OP, you have the power, and are the only one with that power, who can remove someone elses “accept(ance)” of a “best answer”. Go remove it! Like I said, it is a MAJOR pet peeve of mine and wish others wouldn’t do it to my questions, because how do they know if that person’s answer is really the best to what I was needing? Who are they to say my question is answered and shut others down from contributing?
OWM, that seems to be dependent of the device. On my tablet, the number is shown to the left, while the comment says (0) below, but on my phone, they are all clumpled together. It shows “comments(1)” for GeorgeB, plus the blue 1 where one can upvote or downvote.
I think the issue I was talking about in the OP is that it will show Comment (1) after an OP Question, but as SC explained, that’s because the question was up voted (but not commented on). Otherwise, the Comments under the Responses do show the correct number of comments under each response.
Clear as mud?🙄😂
